Bearing Down

Tonight the Bears will take on the Eagles at Solider Field.  Vegas has the Bears as three point dogs at home.  The gut reaction is that the Eagles will easily win this game, straight up.  Home dogs are never good to bet against, so I am maintaining some hope that they can win tonight.  I feel incredibly stupid typing that, as I've felt that way for each of the last three weeks.

I'll always be a Bears fan, but I can no longer continue to watch Cutler work on a single season interception record while simultaneously doing his best "blue steel" face.  In the event the Bears lose, my loyalties for the remainder of this season will be shifted to Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts (my wife is from Indy and proudly wears a Jeff Saturday jersey on game days).

After the amazing win against New England, I decided Manning may be favorite football player since Walter Payton.  Whether he is down two scores or up two scores, twenty seconds left or twenty minutes left, he approaches each play the exact same way.  There are lessons for life in the way he does his job, but I wont begin to get into them.

First things first...let's win tonight.
